Position Reports to: Nursing Specialist
Job Summary
The primary responsibility for the CNA/CMA instructor would be both classroom and clinical supervision. The program scheduled hours vary, days, evenings and possible weekends.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities for the Instructor position include the following:
- Teach curriculum and instruct clinical and didactic nursing assistant courses using the state core curriculum.
- Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination
- Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet the training program grading requirements
- Follow procedures as prescribed in the Training Program policies, and deal consistently and fairly with all students.
Qualifications
Qualifications for the Clinical Instructor position include the following:
- RN licensure in the state of Kansas
- Must hold KDHE teaching certification at CNA training facility

Position Reports to: Dean of Student Affairs
Job Summary
The position of Recruiter & Academic Advisor for Allied Health is responsible for building relationships with area schools and health facilities to recruit prospective students who are interested in the health field. The successful candidate will help students understand career paths within the Healthcare industry, particularly those related to CNA, LPN, and RN licenses, and guide students along academic paths in these areas. This position works closely with the Allied Health Retention Coordinator in supporting efforts of the Diversity NOW project.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Health Care faculty to understand expectations of Allied Health Programs and introduce students to expectations early in their exploration of Allied Health career paths.
- Receive referrals from Admissions staff and recruit students into all health programs.
- Recruit potential Donnelly LPN students to be part of the Diversity NOW project.
- Recruit students into Allied Health Education Programs.
- Reinforce and establish written linkages and relationships between instructional program and occupation/careers.
- Meet with students clarify, document and develop realistic educational/career plans.
- Develop a nurturing relationship with advisees through regularly scheduled meetings.
- Inform students of special services available to them for remediation, academic assistance and other needs.
- Develop and update advising guidelines with clear academic and career progression steps.
- Assist students in planning individual academic plans consistent with abilities and interests.
- Monitor student progress toward educational/career goals through regularly scheduled, documented meetings and/or sessions.
- Approve designated educational transactions (schedule, drop/adds, withdrawals, etc.).
- Help prepare Allied Health students to transition into subsequent Allied Health Educational programs to successfully meet educational/career goals.
- Update recruiting and advising colleagues on Health Care program information.
- Submit reports to the Dean of Student Affairs on an as needed basis.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Affairs.
Qualifications

- Aware of the impact of cultural patterns on student retention and student learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, students, staff.
- Understand nursing profession and allied health curriculum and experience advising students.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Allied Health.
- Spanish language skills preferred.

Applicants interested in serving as adjunct instructors in Mathematics are sought, specifically for the following course subjects: Basic Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Introduction to Statistics, and Calculus I. Day and/or evening and weekend sections available.
Qualifications
Qualifications for adjunct instructors include:
1) Master's degree required or a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the field, and doctorate preferred,
2) Some experience teaching in the post‐secondary environment strongly preferred,
3) Experience working with diverse students strongly preferred.
